30 – 40 Children, (from child managed homes or who have been disenfranchised through HIV/AIDS or who come from extreme disadvantaged circumstances) are sponsored to attend an eight day life skills and training camp three times a year. On return from these camps, Joy Centre youth leaders and members of ‘mosadi mmelegi’ (mothers to the children – an organization within JC), maintain input and parenting and guidance operations with them through our ‘kids club program’. The orphan problem in Southern Africa is so great, it is impossible to institutionalize the problem through childrens homes etc., ways have to be found to father the nations fatherless on the street.
